My Love Hate Relationship with Noggin
Cindy on May 22nd, 2008
As the mother to a preschool aged child, Noggin is both a blessing and a curse. It is the better television for my child to be watching. Let’s face it, though I do not let the TV babysit my child, there are just times when I have to get work done, and nothing else occupies him because he’s spilled the paint, and broken all the crayons, for the 75th time!
So today, I thought I would see if I was the only one! The video below is the March Critter song that played a gazillon times a day that I know by heart.
Is Noggin taking over the world? What do you think?

I agree that sometimes you do need to sit the kids down and let the TV watch them. Sometimes people just need that time. I don’t blame you. The video is great thanks.
I definately can relate to this! I have to balance spending time on my website http://knownhealthsolutions.com/ and keeping care of my kid! You are not alone! Thanks for the great post.
Oh I’m so glad my kids are passed the Noggin and Nick Jr. era. However, they have now moved on to Disney and all the teen shows and stuff like that. TV is not my kids babysitters, but they are good part time nannies while I work. LOL
I have mixed feelings about this too. I have a little one who watched an “educational” program, but she looks like a little zombie :). I wonder how much of the education actually sinks in and how much more she would learn if she read or did more productive things. Maybe if they had activity books that went along with it - ooo, how’s that for a business idea? :). No one steal it!!!!! - Actually, I’ll never start it - go ahead and try it!

Excellent idea! Let’s talk!
I find that my son picks up strange stuff from the Noggin network that I don’t really like. I mean, it’s fine, but it’ll get him teased when he walks around saying “Hurray! Great Teamwork!” no matter what’s going on, lol.
This is a very nice article… Thanks…
hehe, my little brother picked up loads from the noggin network, so far hes not teased but hes friends to look wierd at him.
Thankfully mine is still too young to watch this kind of thing. I am listening to it now and wanting to strangle the singer
If this song gets stuck in my head I’m coming after you!

It will, as will all the other little jingles that they do! But, actually, I think that’s one of the worst ones.
There’s lots of good stuff on there, but they the repetition kills me! Not only the monthly theme song, but the same episode of the same show just a few hours apart! Agh!
