Thank You For Your Comments!!!
I am so grateful for your readership and all the yellow flowers spinning on my map, but I have a problem. I am being attacked by some crazy spammer sending hundreds of comments per day. I would love to approve them all so that I look like I am really popular but it’s obvious they are all from the same bone head and they all say variations of the same thing! I don’t feel good about getting credit for that. So I’ve only been able to scan, skim, and peek before I delete and I know I have deleted some of your good comments in the process. I don’t feel good about that either so I have started going through them a little at a time, hunting for the real readers. Forgive me if it takes a long time to moderate your comments, I really do appreciate them.

Use Akismet to get rid of human spammers and some captcha plugin to save yourself form automated comments. I have been managing 5 blogs and Akismet is doing the pretty good job.

thanks Steve! I do use Akismet but lately a lot of my good comments are showing up in spam so I have to go through them all anyway.
I know I need to check on it… It’s on my list! 
wow. so clever this baby and so cute too. Is this your 1st kid ? Well, if answer is yes, let me tell u this. You better video the kid each time you get a chance cos when he grows up, and you view this videos it will give you sweet memories of him. And it is a lovely feeling. Especially when he starts to talk, sing oh boy lots of laugh and fun.

Wow, that’s a bit annoying. I’m not sure, but there might be some way to block their ip from commenting at all. I don’t know. Good luck!

Hello, I am sure that you should do something with the spamm. As Steve said I would use Akismet. I am using this plugin at my wordpress blog and it saves me a lot of time (spamm comments are automatically putted in the spamm basket – you can look trough them if you like but it seldom works inappropriate). I am not sure if it works with every blog type.

Yep Yep, Akismet does a brilliant job on my blog too. I highly recommend it.
That’s a cool video, and I’m sorry about the spammers. If people want links, they can at least leave adequate comments. I saw one guy earlier just say, “great blog”; didn’t even capitalize “great”. I may be one of those who uses a keyword name, but does that mean I’m not human, that I don’t care? No, in fact it means I care more. In any case, I will comment to the best of my ability, and earn the link that I get from commenting!
Akismet indeed seems the way to go. Heres some usefull information from Google’s Matt Cutts about upgrading your blog:

Captcha is a must in my opinion, there’s plenty of spam filters about but I must admit I find Akismet pretty good – it can get a bit over-enthusiastic with the filters sometimes, but better that than it being too lax. Thanks for the blog, it’s a top read!
Can do a few things to cut down on spam:
1. Get Akismet up and running.
2. Captcha code.
3. Spam Karma is good too.
All those 3 should pretty much cut the spam completely. If you had any questions on installing them I’d be happy to help. Just send me an email.
