Boat, Plane, or Automobile?

It was unseasonably warm and sunny here today in Mid Michigan.  I went outside to get something from my car at midnight at it was so warm and smooth I wished we had the patio set up so I could sit out on the back deck for a while.  I did not want to go back in the house.  It gave me the vacation bug!

I don’t know what we’re going to do this year.  We are still trying to decide between one long vacation to Florida or a few minis to closer locations.  It’s such a tough decision because money is tight which makes us lean toward some short trips to Cedar Point and Mackinac Island.  BUT THEN AGAIN Hubby’s sister and her husband bought a time share last month and they said we can use it in July.  It is in Orlando, my summer wonderland, and seems pretty hard to pass up!

ALTHOUGH I really want to go on one of those Disney Cruises.  Have you ever been?  My Brother and his family have gone and they absolutely love it.  I have to admit the idea of Disney World is pretty overwhelming and carries a more frazzled air about it than my relaxing laid back Sea World.  But with a Disney Cruise the attractions are more condensed and intimate, and the characters come to you, so you are not on such a schedule trying to make your way to every single attraction.

We vacation in July when Hubby is on change over, but I bet most of you have already gone over Spring Break right?  What did you all do?

  1. I was a bit intrigue with the title of your posts. I can’t seem to relate it with your topic of vacation and cruises. Anyway, my friends and I decided to spend our spring break in Colorado. Do some nature tripping, trekking and mountain climbing.

  2. I have never been on a Disney Cruise, but i have heard they are really good. But, with the economy now, I would suggest that you take a vacation that will be inexpensive. Like go to the beach or something and just walk around and look at the places around.

  3. I have heard that disney cruises are very fun and it’s the ideal vacation, but I think it’s too expensive. If you would want to save money, just find other alternatives, there are still lots that you can do.

  4. At first thought It was about on what kind on travel to take. Disney cruise is a great idea although I personally love to travel by land, I am a bit afraid to go on boats.

  5. Sorry “Business Card”, sometimes my titles do get obscure… it pops into MY mind and makes perfect sense, but often doesn’t translate to others! lol. Boat, plane, automobile refers to taking a Disney Cruise, flying to Orlando, or driving someplace nearby. :-) Thanks for visiting!

  6. You know what Francis? I am sort of afraid of a boat too! I am sure I’ll get sick, but beyond that, I’m just plain scared. Maybe because I’ve waited to long too ever try it and the strongest image I have is of TITANIC. Silly, I know. But all you guys are right… it is just SO expensive. I am not saying it isn’t worth it, because everyone I know who has done it RAVES about it… but I just think of the amazing fun we could have for a fraction of the price and what better ways to spend the money, especially in this economy.

That said… I still think SOME kind of getaway, whatever you can afford, is so important right now because of the stress we are facing daily.

    Thanks everyone!

  7. @cin, thanks for clearing that up. Well, if you really like going to a Disney cruise, then by all means go. You already mentioned that you need SOME kind of getaway and what better getaway it is by going to a Disney cruise. :)

  8. Well no one knows what happens next, dnt know where we are going this summer but hopefully will go at a cool place… Disney crusie it seems that a better holiday spenting spot,… have a nice trip….

  9. If you are waiting for the vacation than I think you must go ahead where you want to go. DO NOT COMPROMISE. Believe me you will arrange the fund later on but this time and those moments will never come back again.

Just close your eyes and see where you want to go and select that destination. DO NOT EFFECT YOUR CHOICE WITH MONETARY … MONEY WILL COME.
