Here’s a quick post inspired by all the autoworkers contemplating taking buy out packages, but it may also be useful to anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit and some money to invest.
We are a Big Three household. We have been offered a handful of buy outs over the years and while contemplating whether or not it is right for us our conversations have led us to the conclusion that the buy out money is not income or a means of survival. It is cushion and a fresh start.
At 42, my Hubby doesn’t really like the idea of starting over. Unless it is in his own business that we can build together and enjoy, which would be a refreshing departure from the hostile environment of his job right now.
I bet we are not the only ones who feel this way which is why I want to share this website I found that helps you research small business opportunities. You can search by type of business or by investment needed to get started.
That’s it. Nothing fancy or witty today. Just sharing a little info.
Good luck.

Hey, there’s nothing like starting a business from the ground up and watching it become successful. Sure you can buy a business if you first, have tons of capital…I know that’s not the case all the time, but most of the time, you will need a good amount of money to buy a business that is turning a profit.
And secondly, are going to inherit all of the business’ problems. I rather start a business from the beginning and try to solve problems I created for myself
but that’s just me.

I would definitely start from the ground up when starting a business. Usually when you dream of starting your own business it is something that is deep inside of you, a passion and drive that you have that brings you to the point of taking the steps to start your own business. To really fully get the satisfaction and fullfillment that comes with running and creating your own business cannot be filled picking up the pieces of a business already established.
I would definitely start my own business before buying an already established business.
I have thought about buying a business, although with the bad economic times, I tend to be more weery about what I am buying. Although it is true though.. that now is a good time to buy things, since prices are getting cheaper.
Great find with that website though
Till then,
Alexis

True. It can understandably be scary to sort of start over, after working someplace for a while. What I like about it though is that in a way, you’re able to take some measure of control back of your destiny. Working for someone else’s company no longer has any of the security that it used to. Good luck!

Buying a business is always good as long as you’re damn sure of how you’re going to manage it or you can think of hiring someone who is eligible for this.
