I gave up coffee a while ago because doc says I have to keep my caffeine to a minimum. With all the cream and sugar I dump into my joe, I am surely better off without it. But as I sit here, zipped up in Hub’s Aero hoodie, shivering and listening to the rain drops as I watch them plop onto the deck, I suddenly have a craving for it. Coffee, that is. And as I am completely distracted by my delicious brew and gloomy view it hits me. HALLOWEEN IS COMING!!!
I love Halloween. I love that Sari’s birthday is November 1st so her birthday can have a Halloween theme if we want. Not that we ever HAVE because up to this point she has only wanted Barbie, Tinkerbell, Carebears, and Mermaids. But as she approaches 10, I think I may have finally coached her into something more age appropriate like zombies, goblins, and haunted mansions. Muahaha!
I am not a big fan of annual birthday parties for kids because I think it’s indulgent and sends a bad message. But the thought of planning Sari a Halloween themed birthday party gets me all giggly. Filling out Halloween invitations, making elaborate ghoulish treats, and planning old school party games with apples, blindfolds, and squishy feeling stuff… one day that party planning will be mine!
Alas, that party is not this year. Sari wants to go to Cedar Point’s HALLOW WEEKENDS this year which is just as exciting. I swear I didn’t coach her it was all her idea! I would love to hear if anyone has been to Hallow Weekends at Cedar Point before. Have any tips for us?
If you are not familiar with Cedar Point’s Hallow Weekends here’s a good video I found that has a good sampling of the day and nighttime action. In addition to the rides there are parades, shows, haunted houses for all ages, scare zones and ghouls roaming to keep you company. Check it out!

keep sharing guys..
Halloween is such a fun holiday! There are so many different ways to celebrate it. I bet your themed party is going to be a smash hit when you do it.
Definitely my favorite time of year. Our little one is going out as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz this year. My wife just found her Ruby Slippers at Target.
NFL is in the air as well!
