Mama’s Aging Eyeballs

I worked in eye wear for over ten years. I swore I would never buy cheap glasses. I believed every word I said as I convinced my customers to buy up, because the lower priced options provided neither the safety nor the visual acuity of some other choices.  I still believe it whole heartedly. Only here’s the difference.

Back then I got discounts on designer sunglasses and lens treatments. Today I do not.

This is just a fleeting thought today as the sun starts to recede and I’m haviing a difficult time reading my notes in the dimmed light. Thinking about how my 42 year old eyes would benefit from an eye exam and updated RX. These lenses from 1999 surely are of superior quality, but the prescription? <sigh> What to do what to do….?
